2020 Is Winding Down As Business Is Winding Up

What a crazy year 2020 has been. We have had to adjust how we work, collaborate and socialize. We had to instantly master conference technology as that was the only way to interact with staff and our clients. With very little ramp up time, it started off pretty shaking trying to get used to how to invite and host a web meeting. Being on camera for several hours a day and figuring out how to make your meetings engaging was definitely a challenge. How many blooper stories do you have for your web meetings? I can recall attendees trying to manage pets and kids in make-shift office environments and even one staff member thinking they are muted only to have everyone hear their VISA number as they made an online purchase. Crazy times. But, when the dust settled, we were pretty proficient.

Now, with a vaccine on the horizon, the markets are very positive that we will emerge strong? Once we are back, what will the office structure look like? Financial analysts are predicting that with the success of remote workers, commercial real estate will never be the same. Brick and mortar is essential, but, not in the same way as before.

What will your office workflow look like once your staff return? Will there be any residual effects from 2020? Now that you have successfully managed remote workers, will you offer flex schedules? Most importantly, will your organization be ready for the next shelter in place? The key is to have the ability to shift with zero interruption in business services. Having the ability to access, manage and collaborate will eliminate the ramp up time and provide a seamless transition.

We are in the business of creating workflow efficiencies around processing documents and data no matter what the environment. We understand that the key is a robust network infrastructure and the proper document management system. Paper’s role in the business workflow process is rapidly evolving. We have found that many departmental workflows benefit from EDM (electronic document management) automation. It’s a brave new world and we are fortunate to have made it through and helped many businesses along the way. Remember what Darwin wrote: “the only constant is change.” Now, that’s an understatement!
