Companies spend countless dollars and hours in meetings trying to decide how to boost productivity, often even purchasing technologies and implementing strategies to do so.

Simple Ways to Boost Your Company's Productivity

But at the end of the day, enhancing your business's productivity may be as simple as going back to a few tried-and-true concepts that could help employees deliver better work at a more efficient pace. Here are a few ideas.

    1. Encourage de-cluttering: Did you know that research shows that we all tend to work better in clean work environments? Encourage your employees to keep their workspaces clean and do your best to make the office environment inviting and pleasant. Even simple additions like plants and decor could help your employees focus and feel more at ease.
    2. Share calendars: How often do employees waste time trying to schedule meetings or events? Instead, why not use today's calendar applications to share availability across the office.
    3. Encourage concentration: It's common to be distracted and interrupted several times a day in today's fast-paced business world. But research shows that this isn't just bad for productivity, it's also a good way to promote burnout and frustration. Choose an office-wide "concentration indicator" that employees can use to show they'd rather not be disturbed. This can be a sign that employees put on their desks, a closed door, or any other agreed-upon indicator.
    4. Natural light: Everyone is more awake and alert when they're enjoying the benefits of natural light. When possible, provide this to employees to boost efficiency and productivity.
    5. Promote collaboration: Did you know that collaboration is one of the best ways to get work done in the office? Encourage employees to work together on projects.
